Sans-culotte (Grace Mahoney)

The French Revolution began a few years ago, but has been moving so slowly. In order to make a new France, we need to take big steps, even if they have big consequences. The first few days of September, I helped kill hundreds of priests and prisoners. I believe that we did the right thing- these people were opposing the French Revolution! The priests were on the side of the king- they did not want to loose their power. If we are going to change France and give people the rights that they deserve, then obviously we are going to have to get some blood on our hands. For all we know, the priests could have been planning their own counter revolution, and were days away from slaughtering all of us! The September Massacres were necessary to keep the French Revolution going, and taking it to the next step.

  1. Jacobin (K.Lavan) I couldn't agree with you more. There needed to be a change and the old order wasn't providing the majority of the people with their voices. The Massacres were definitely necessary in order to show how badly we support our ways. Although lives were spared, the overall outcome is outstanding. We have given the majority a voice and have proven that our country is strong.

  2. Sans-Culotte (A. Buckley) I like what you are saying. Your beliefs couldn't be anymore accurate, we do need to make the next big step to save the Revolution! By us killing suspects and people against our beliefs we are securing our beliefs, and allowing everyone around us to know what the right way to do this is. Power will soon be ours, and we will be the voice of the public! We must do it whatever way we can through blood, sweat, and tears, and stop for no one! We will succeed!
