Jacobin (S. Basler)
If we want to make change, we cannot simply sit around and wait for it to come upon us. Instead, we must fight. We must fight to make the change we want to be. We must fight to bring the monarchy down and to start a republic. After all, I firmly believe that the only way we will survive is through a republic. Less than one month ago, on August 10, we stormed the palace of Tuileries and slaughtered the king's guards. One may ask why we did so, and I can most assuredly answer that it was for the best of our country. Just last week, we rushed to attack prisons that held nobles and priests, only to prove our cause. We cannot have men sitting around that do not agree with us. That will only push us farther behind. I can promise you that we preformed this task for a reason. We want to make a country strong enough for all of us to live in. And that cannot happen when there are men who disagree. Now that they are gone however, we are one step closer to becoming the nation we all dream of.
