Liberty, Equality, Fraternity (bourgeoise) (M.Gempp)

Liberty, equality, and fraternity. This should stay as France's slogan. Liberty will allow all of us to have freedom, and for anyone who hasn't had freedom to have it, especially many in the 3rd estate. Equality will allow everyone in France in be equal. All of the estates should pay taxes, the 3rd estate should be allowed to be in government, military, higher jobs, based on intelligence. 1st and 2nd estate should be able to take some of the jobs only the 3rd estate does too. Everyone should be able to take what ever job they would enjoy to do. I know I would like to be in the military and serve for my country instead of a merchant. Finally, fraternity will have us all together as a community together. Everyone can all be in the Estates-General and be able to say what they want without being kicked out. Everyone can agree and be able to work everything out with no arguments that lead into another revolution. If we have this for France, life will be so much easier. Napoleon's slogan will cause chaos and won't allow the estates to be equal and work together. At least with "Liberty, equality, and fraternity" we can all be free, be equal in every estate, and work together to make France a better country

I agree with you completely. The right of the people and how they are treated are superior over only worrying about an image that a country withholds by seeming strong or in order. Although order, security, and efficiency may make france stable, without support by the people, who may be being treated badly, there would never be any any of these three goals in place in france.

It saddens me to see my own people, mes frères et mes soeurs, opposing me like this. You do not realize that all I do is always and only for the good of the people? Not only does it sadden me, but this also makes my job as your emperor significantly more difficult. I make a constant and immense effort to help my citoyens, and all I get in return is disagreement and complaining. It is a shame.

    1. What you said France should have will cause more chaos. The 3rd estate will have to work harder for the security, which is paying for weapons and barriers that we may not even need. The taxes will go up and who has to pay those? The 3rd estate. Not anyone else. You get to gain more power than us, it'll be even worst than before Napoleon.

I disagree with Mary Wollstonecraft. Wouldn't you want a stable country? Without stability, people will go mad. After all, they're all born evil are they not? We should learn how to put these ruffians in line before things get worse. Maybe what this country needs is a change. I mean, look where that slogan got us..

I totally agree with you. People like us deserve liberty, freedom, and equality. With out this slogan, our nation and people will not be able to function. Over the past years, we have gone through such bad horror and deserve equality and freedom. A good nation's people are all equal and are all free. I am very upset that Napoleon changed our slogan

  3. Jacobin (K. Lavan) I could not agree with you more. Our country needs to stand by our original slogan of "Liberty, Equality, Fraternity." The slogan provides our country with unity. Everyone is equal, no matter the estate. All me have have the right to express their beliefs. Napoleon's slogan doesn't suit the way of our country and is not good for the people. Why do we need to change a slogan that is uniting our country? We do not need to change the slogan for our country because it promotes freedom, equality and unity.

If we do not work together we will get nothing done. I don't understand how some people don't see that we as a country are in total need of stability. This stability is crucial to the country. The old system put us into debt and failure, Napoleon has great ideas on how to get rid of our debts and he will lead us to success
