J. Locke (M. Rodrigue)
I am a man who believes in natural rights of the people, among these being life, liberty, and property. People do not form government to be oppressed by one all-powerful leader. They do so to protect their natural rights. The government has an obligation to the rights of the people, not to the benefit of themselves. If anything, the government should have as little order and power as possible in order for the well-being of the citizens to be met. Efficiency of society would be nothing without common people in society to make it so. It is the common people who drive economy. It is the rights of liberty, equality, and fraternity for the common people that should be recognized above all else. An absolute monarchy is a symbol of tyranny through the eyes of the common people whose judgment has not been clouded with lies. Furthermore, a government should be accepted by all citizens, and when citizens choose liberty, equality, and fraternity, so be it.
