Joseph Stalin (Grace Mahoney)

Hello, my name is Joseph Stalin. I was born on December 18, 1878. I came into power in the Soviet Union on April 3, 1922. I am a leader of the communist party, and I firmly believe in everything I stand for. I think that the rise of growing extremism is a great thing. In order for the communist party to become more accepted, we need the people already a part of it to feel strongly about it. We need them to become even more extreme in their views, so that they can spread the word. A lot of people believe that communism won't work, or that it is taking away people's freedoms-- that couldn't be further from the truth. We need more extremists to let people know that communism will make our country better than it ever has been. The reason extremism is growing right now is because World War I has just ended, and people are looking for solutions to a lot of the problems that it caused. Communism is the answer to those problems! If I were to do anything about growing extremism, the only thing I would do would be try and make more people extremist, and try to get rid of anyone who doesn't agree with communism. In fact, I think that's what I'll do...

You say that communism is the answer to our struggles. How can an extremist dictator who desires to wipe out all of my people possibly be beneficial to me, a Jew? What we need is the voice of the people to be heard. We need strong, intellectual people to represent the common man in power, not one ruling dictator who wishes to slaughter innocent civilians. Absolute power corrupts absolutely, but with balance there can be order.

You are willing to kill thousands just so your dictatorial form of governing will be accepted. Why can you not accept that people are going to have different ways and ideas to help solve the issues in the country. Forcing opinions upon people is not a way to help the country. Extremism is taking away the voices of thousands and needs to stop growing so rapidly. Issues cannot be solved with extremism.

I totally agree with you in every such way. Like you said, growing extremism is the solution to the post world war I era. Extremism is the best way to change society for the best. The future of our societies in Europe and Russia are dependent on extremism. It will dig us out of the hole we are in.

Communism is not the answer to the problems especially when the only thing that you give to your people is fear. You need to see your country through the same lenses that they see it and you have stop killing of people who think slightly different from you. You say you want more extremist but to me it sounds like you just want more people to be your puppets, and think the same way that you do.

False. I am an innocent Austrian woman trying to live in a society that is becoming worse and worse by the hour. The stability of Austria is no longer there as women have lost the opportunity to work at safe and average paying jobs. Family support is not as easy to handle as it used to be. Are you just going to leave us here the way we are right now? Going on the path of your thoughts, there is no way that we will be surviving in the near future.

Why do you feel that you have to solve problems by controlling people? What happened to free will and using a democracy to settle issues? You had said communism was not taking away peoples freedoms, but look around you. Jews sent to prison camps just because they do not believe in the same things that you do. People forced out of their jobs just because it does not meet your standards? If you ask me, this is a perfect example of taking away peoples freedoms.
I believe that there are problems in the society. However, these problems do not lie in the ordinary citizens. The problems lie in people like you who feel they are better and superior to everyone else. It is people like you that are creating more and more problems. It is arrogant leaders like you who must go.
